ILONA

I am drawn to create non-linear narratives with my music.
For this I connect materials and context and I enjoy looking for multi-layered realities. I always hope to find sounds and ideas, that stimulate the inner imagination and ask for resonance in people's minds.
I am very happy if you listen and watch my pieces.
PERGER
Ilona Perger is an Austrian composer and pianist based in Bern.
Currently she is studying in her Masters degree in Composition Creative Practice with Simon Steen-Andersen and Irene Galindo Quero at Hochschule der Künste in Bern.
She is constantly realizing projects and working with various ensembles, such as Ensemble Mosaik, Ensemble Resonanz, Ensemble Spółdzielnia Muzyczna Contemporary Ensemble or the Jack Quartet, among others.
Her pieces have been presented at various festivals such as Warschauer Herbst, rainy days, Darmstädter Ferienkurse and blurred edges.
She is an active member of the Berlin- based Kollektiv UNRUHE.
After completing her Bachelor degree in “Business Management and E-Business” in an early age, she decided to further pursue her artistic career and completed her Bachelor studies in piano pedagogy at the UdK Berlin with Linde Großmann and Lucas Blondeel.
These studies paved her way into composition - first as a sought-after interpreter of contemporary music and soon afterwards as an active composer.
In addition to her musical work, she has performed as actress with the Danish performance collective SIGNA at the Wiener Festwochen and the Schauspielhaus Hamburg and has worked in various theater contexts, which still makes her reflect on performativity and questions in contemporary music theater, as well on context of concert formats and instrumental music.
In 2025 Ilona was awarded the Darmstadt Scholarship by the Darmstädter Ferienkurse.
